Built around experience, yours and ours

BCQ was built to help experienced builders and tradespeople receive practical guidance around qualifications, Recognition of Prior Learning and the pathways that can support the next stage of their career or business.

John is a Qualified Trainer & Assessor, and holds Open Builders Licences in three states in Australia as well as being a registered Builder in New Zealand. He holds nine Certificate III trade qualifications and contractor licences; experience is what you get with JVR and BCQ. He also holds double TAE Diplomas and has owned and operated three RTOs over the past 50 years.

At the centre of BCQ is John Von Reuth, a qualified trainer and assessor with decades of experience across training, construction qualifications and the realities experienced tradespeople face when trying to formalise what they already know.

From John Von Reuth

"I've spent most of my working life around builders, tradespeople, training and qualifications. What has always mattered to me is recognising the experience people have genuinely earned on the job."

"A qualification is important, but it should never erase the years of work that came before it. My role through BCQ has always been to help people understand what they need, what evidence matters and how to move through the process without making it more complicated than it needs to be."

"And for many people, the qualification isn't the finish line. It is the next step towards a licence, a supervisory role, a stronger business or simply having their experience formally recognised."

What BCQ does not do

✕

Is not the registered training organisation issuing nationally recognised qualifications

✕

Does not issue builders or contractor licences

✕

Does not undertake formal assessment or certification: this is done by All Trades and Compliance (RTO 32398)

✕

Does not make licensing decisions: these are made by the relevant state or territory authority

BCQ provides qualification pathway guidance and RPL evidence preparation as a third-party provider for Master Mechanics Training Pty Ltd, trading as All Trades and Compliance (RTO 32398). Formal assessment and certification are the responsibility of the RTO. A qualification is not a licence: builders licences are issued by the licensing authority in each state and territory, including QBCC in Queensland, against their own experience and financial requirements. BCQ does not operate in South Australia. ABN 50 621 900 543.
